A seven voice beat making machine with fifteen custom kits and built in effects

Each kit was created specifically for Beat Shaper, giving the drum machine its own identity rather than relying on generic sample packs. The kits cover a wide range of electronic styles, from clean House and IDM to more gritty Industrial and Berlin Techno styled drum sounds. Each kit keeps the same seven-voice structure, so you can change the character of a beat without having to rebuild the pattern from scratch.
Each percussive voice has its own volume control, delay send, and reverb send, making it easy to shape the kit as a single instrument while still giving every drum sound its own space. A tight kick can stay dry and centered, while hats can be sent into the delay and a clap can be sent into a long tail reverb.
The drum machine also includes a dedicated compressor for shaping the dynamic response of the entire kit. Use it to tighten the overall drum sound, control peaks or add a more finished feel before export. Subtle compression can help the kick, snare, hats, and percussion sound more polished, while stronger settings can add punch and intensity for heavier electronic styles.
Beat Shaper’s generation engine can create drum patterns based on your project settings, giving you a fast starting point for new ideas. Instead of beginning with an empty grid, you can generate a beat, listen immediately, and decide whether to keep it, adjust it, or generate again.
Generated beats are fully editable in Beat Shaper’s piano roll component. This keeps the workflow open-ended: the generation engine can provide the initial rhythmic direction, but the final pattern remains yours to shape. You can move hits, remove notes, add variations, change timing, and refine the groove until it fits the track.

An editable drum pattern generated by Beat Shaper
Once your beat is how you like, Beat Shaper gives you several ways to take it further.
Beats can be exported as MIDI files, making it easy to use the generated rhythm with other instruments, samplers, or drum machines. They can also be exported as audio files. Free tier users can export MP3 files, while Creator and Producer tier users can export high quality WAV files.
Entire Beat Shaper projects can also be exported as Ableton Live projects. When exported this way, the drum machine voices are included in an Ableton Drum Rack, so your generated rhythm can continue to be arranged, mixed, and processed inside Live.
This makes the drum machine more than a sketchpad. It can help generate the first beat, provide the sound source while you build the track, and then carry that rhythm into your preferred DAW, when you are ready to finish the idea.
